At Stanhope, we work with clients who need cover for their high-value possessions, from jewellery to art and collections.

Different owners need different cover. We know that standard cover is rarely expansive enough for owners of luxury items, but even within the realm of specialist cover there are a lot of variations. For example, if you own a single Richard Mille RM 011, you’ll need a different policy to someone who has a timepiece collection containing Audemars Piguet, Rolex and Omega.

At Stanhope, we can support you with:

  • Access to multiple insurance solutions
  • Instant quote options (where available)
  • Flexible underwriting for higher values
  • Specialist advisors who understand your valuable watch
  • Tailored recommendations based on how you use your watch

For some clients, standalone cover for valuable watches is the right option. For others, particularly if you have many high-value items worth protection, a high-value home insurance policy may be a better fit.

Protect your Richard Mille watches with confidence

At Stanhope, we arrange tailored insurance for owners who need more than standard cover for high-value timepieces.

Whether it’s insurance for a single Richard Mille watch, a growing collection, or multiple valuable possessions, we help arrange specialist cover to support a range of ownership needs, including:

  • Multiple watches under one policy
  • Worldwide cover as standard
  • Protection against theft, accidental damage and loss
  • Flexibility to cover individual items or collections
  • Cover for watches worn daily or stored securely
  • Options to include watches alongside other high-value possessions.

Why choose specialist insurance for Richard Mille watches?

If you regularly wear your watch or take it abroad, it’s important to know that standard home insurance likely won’t fully cover it, because they may place limits on valuable items or restrict cover outside the home.

Particularly when it comes to high-value watches, how your watch is used is important. Stanhope can help you to arrange cover that reflects how you wear your Richard Mille or whether it forms part of a growing collection.

When it comes to models like the RM 27, R 67-02 and limited edition pieces, you also have to factor in that they tend to attract attention – particularly when worn regularly or travelling.

A standard home insurance policy simply doesn’t offer the protection your Richard Mille requires, and may:

  • Have single-item limits
  • Only cover watches inside the home
  • Require personal possessions cover for use away from home
  • Restrict cover while travelling
  • Require high-value watches to be specified separately

That’s why, when it comes to Richard Mille watches, specialist insurance isn’t just useful – it’s essential. Plus, we can help shape the cover around the value of your watch and how often you wear it, and whether it’s part of a collection.

You may also have other high-value assets that need protecting, like jewellery or art. At Stanhope, we can take a holistic approach to cover, combining your watch insurance with high-value home insurance to help protect what matters under one joined-up arrangement.

  • Do you insure Richard Mille watch collections?

We can certainly help to arrange insurance for Richard Mille watches, whether it’s a modern, limited or mixed luxury watch collection.

Standalone collection cover can sometimes be more limited in the market, particularly for ultra-high-value collections. If you own several watches, it’s worth speaking with an advisor.

At Stanhope, we can talk you through the available options and whether standalone watch cover or a high-value home insurance solution is more suitable.

  • Are there any restrictions on cover for Richard Mille watches?

Yes, restrictions and exclusions can apply. Loss, theft and accidental damage may be covered worldwide, depending on the policy and insurer terms.

    Common exclusions can include:

    • Cosmetic damage
    • Wear and tear
    • Watches left in unattended bags
    • Mysterious disappearance

You should always check the full policy wording before arranging cover.

  • Is insurance for Richard Mille watches worth it?

If you own a Richard Mille watch, you know they can be expensive to repair or replace. Some owners also regularly wear theirs, which increases the chance of accidental damage, loss or theft.

Particularly if you own an RM 011, RM 035 or RM 07-01, specialist cover can give you the reassurance you need that your watch is protected, whether you’re at home or overseas.

  • What are the benefits of Stanhope offering multiple insurance solutions?

Stanhope can help you compare different insurance solutions for your Richard Mille watch or wider collection, meaning you won’t have to approach each insurer separately.

Other benefits you’d get from working with us include:

    • Compare multiple solutions quickly
    • Review different levels of cover
    • Explore pricing options from different insurers
    • Access flexible underwriting where available
    • Get support if you need to make a claim

Stanhope can explain the options available and help you find cover that suits how you own, wear and store your watch.

*Prices vary depending on the value of the watch, location, claims history and individual circumstances. Subject to eligibility and underwriting criteria. Policy terms, conditions and exclusions apply. 10 x monthly payments. Arranged by Close Brothers Premium Finance.

I started working in the insurance industry in 2004. Four years later, I left to focus on theological studies, working as a youth worker and then as a ministry director in Seattle, USA. When returning to the UK, I had an opportunity to work for the late Andrew Marchington. I joined his firm as a sales advisor when it had around ten staff members. Within three years, I was Head of Ops with a staff team of over 30 people. After a chance encounter in 2019 with Rachel Living and Will Cooper, I co-started Stanhope to build a high-value home, luxury watch, and jewellery broker synonymous with trust. I love being with Donna, my wife, and four kids when not working, cramming in the odd row, or run when I can. I am fortunate to love what I do and consider it a blessing to grow the Stanhope brand.
